Building and Construction
Our Building and Construction team provides specialised legal advice to Tasmanian Government agencies and instrumentalities on a broad range of building and construction related procurements and transactional matters. With years of specialised legal experience across our team in both a government and private sector context, we understand the perspectives, constraints and drivers within the construction industry.
Our services include assisting with drafting both standard and bespoke procurement and contract documentation, reviewing and advising on departures and assisting with contract negotiation particularly on novel, high risk and complex matters. We maintain the suite of template building and construction procurement and contracting documentation and work to continually improve these documents.
The Building and Construction team is led by Eliza Richardson and Jane McMeekin.
Commercial and Information Technology
Our Commercial and Information Technology Team provides specialised advice to Tasmanian Government agencies and instrumentalities on various commercial and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) matters. We understand the unique needs of the Tasmanian Government and its instrumentalities and offer practical solutions to help navigate these areas effectively. Our services include contract drafting and guidance on goods and services and ICT procurement processes, as well as supplier negotiations, technology implementation, cybersecurity, digital transformations and general commercial matters affecting the Tasmanian Government. We strive to achieve the best outcomes whilst ensuring compliance with the law and Treasurer's Instructions.
The Commercial and Information Technology team is led by Simon Millington.
Property
Our Property Team provides specialised legal advice to Tasmanian Government agencies and instrumentalities on a wide range of property-related matters. We manage State-related property projects, addressing a diverse range of complex legislative issues. Our expertise includes drafting, preparing, and negotiating complex, novel, critical, and routine legal documentation to facilitate transactions that optimise desired outcomes within the applicable laws and policies of our clients.
