Experience and Expertise
Tamieka has worked predominately as a commercial transactional legal practitioner since August 2000, with an emphasis on commercial and property law. As a result, Tamieka is a very experienced practitioner with a comprehensive and expert knowledge of property and commercial law, particularly relating to Crown Land and property projects as it relates to the State of Tasmania and its instrumentalities, having worked in this area since joining the Office of the Crown Solicitor in 2002. She also has significant experience in advising, drafting and negotiating finance and security related aspects to transactional matters. During this time, Tamieka has acquired an extensive knowledge and understanding of the processes of the State and a broad knowledge of contemporary policy issues and matters which affect it.
State-related property projects and the delivery and maintenance of property project work often involve a diverse range of complex legislative issues where Tamieka has provided advice about the relevant legislation that might be required to effect the proposed restructure of property or statutory bodies together with consequential issues such as the transfer of property, assets, and employees.
