Employment opportunities in Crown Law

Crown Law employs 34 legal practitioners in addition to the two statutory office holders, the Solicitor-General and the Director of Public Prosecutions. The legal practitioners are supported by 27 administrative and clerical staff, including three conveyancing clerks and eight specialist law clerks.

Employment within Crown Law is on the basis of merit. Vacant positions are advertised on www.jobs.tas.gov.au and any person seeking employment in Crown Law should keep a close eye on this website for employment opportunities.

Crown Law does not provide work experience opportunities for students other than students from post-graduate legal professional training programmes due to the complex nature of the work undertaken. Requests for work experience placement should be made through the relevant post-graduate legal professional training programmes.
