The Crown Solicitor is Mr Alan Morgan. Mr Morgan has held the office of Crown Solicitor since February 2009. Mr Morgan is assisted by a team of eight legal practitioners, three conveyancing clerks and four administrative staff.
The Office of the Crown Solicitor does not provide legal assistance to members of the public. Members of the public requiring legal assistance should contact their own solicitor or the Legal Aid Commission of Tasmania.
The Office of the Crown Solicitor is not funded by Government through the budgetary process. It charges on a fee for service basis. Treasury Instruction 1118 regulates the procurement of legal services by government.
